Care/Washing Instructions

In general, one of the best ways to remember how to care for an item is to save its care instructions. When in doubt, check labels before washing.

Washing:

* We recommend turning your duvet cover inside out before washing to maintain the integrity of the inks used.

* Wash in cool or lukewarm water that's less than 104F.

* Set wash cycle on "gentle." When you have completed the wash cycle for bed linens, run the load through an extra rinse cycle as this helps to remove any soap residue (lingering soap residue decreases the softness of your bed linens).

* Use less detergent, about half the recommended amount. Always dissolve your detergent in the washing machine before adding your linens.

* Avoid using bleach or detergent with optical brighteners, as it breaks down the fabric fiber and can weaken your bedding.

* Don't wash sheets and towels together as it causes pilling on the fabric.

Drying:

* Dry a duvet on gentle heat in the dryer, remove and adjust duvet so damp areas are exposed, then reinsert into the dryer for another cycle.

* Avoid over-drying. Heat weakens fibers.

* Remove bedding from the dryer promptly and fold immediately. If bedding has cooled in the dryer and wrinkles have set in, then tumble another 5-10 minutes with a washcloth that has been slightly dampened.
